StoneTrain
StoneTrain has been formed to provide training for the natural stone industry and in particular, to Stone Federation members, and is run for the industry, by the industry. The training provided is realistically priced to reflect the market place and StoneTrain is able to supply the training on an as and when basis, in a format best suited to the employers.
Those involved in providing the training are leading authorities in their field and are fully aware of the commercial realities of the stone industry. Research undertaken by Stone Federation who run StoneTrain and the NSITG ensures that StoneTrain is aware of new training needs and is able to provide for these ahead of the competition. A pre-existing knowledge of the industry also gives StoneTrain a head start in the market.
StoneTrain started on 1 January 2007. It covers the UK. StoneTrain is a company set up to be a training provider to the natural stone industry. It is different and unique to the other providers already in the market place in that it is aware of the up to the minute needs of the industry and is in a position to supply them as and when needed, in a format to suit the employers.
StoneTrain certificates endorsed by Stone Federation will be awarded at the end of courses when the applicants are successful. The courses will be eligible for ConstructionSkills grants.
The stone industry through the Stone Federation, is keen to create and maintain a highly skilled and trained workforce. The employers will be approached on a regular basis and asked what courses are required and how they should be provided. This way the industry will feel fully involved at all times. Stone Federation members will benefit as they will receive a discount on the courses which will encourage them to buy their training through StoneTrain.
StoneTrain will offer courses to companies within the natural stone industry, from quarries through to contractors, including designers and consultants.
