Stone Federation represented the natural stone industry at this year's Ecobuild event at Earls Court. The event, held on 3-5th March, attracted more than 30,000 design and construction professionals from across the UK and beyond.
The Stone Federation stand was the hub of the Stone Zone, a joint initiative between Stone Federation and Ecobuild. Our aim was to highlight the sustainable credentials of natural stone and showcase the breadth of applications and innovative products available.
Visitors were invited to the stand to discuss issues on sustainability; however a large number of visitors with such diverse questions as training, membership and technical advice were also welcomed.
The two Stone Federation members present were Realstone Ltd and Stoneville (UK) Ltd. Both companies received lots of enquiries and said they had an excellent show.
Iain Kennedy of Realstone Ltd reported a "very good quality of visitor and an excellent stand position. I will definitely look at doing the same or larger next year".
The Stone Federation's Stone Sustainability Statement was made available along with some extracts from BRE Ltd's Green Guide, available to view in full at www.thegreenguide.org.uk.
Leaflets available at the show explained stone's sustainability credentials - you can download a copy of 'Natural Stone - the oldest sustainable material' here.
